Royal College of Art Vehicle Design graduates Nir Siegel and Ian Slattery have taken top honors at the 26th annual Pilkington Vehicle Design Awards, held at the RCA in London. Jaguar designer Earl Beckles presented the award for Best Design Interpretation to Siegel for his Audi Genesis project, a vehicle that builds itself using 3D printing technology to the user's specifications, providing a new kind of owner experience. Beckles said that Siegel's idea was fresh and innovative, while also carrying an interesting story and development process.
Lexus will launch the new IS saloon earlier than expected, showing the new BMW 3-series and Mercedes C-class rival off at the Detroit motor show in January 2013. ICONIC sporting brand Ferrari turned on the style to celebrate 30 years of presence in Hong Kong. Ferrari's president Luca di Montezemolo was in attendance alongside a spectacular display of over 600 Ferraris - the largest gathering ever in Greater China - arranged to form the traditional five-petal flower. The gathering also was used to show the firm's latest offering the 458 Speciale which was unveiled by Marc Gene, the Scuderia F1 team's chief test driver.
